POEM - Respect

Respect

There are certain things don’t come with jobs
Like some people automatically expect
One thing must be earned, you know
And it’s something called Respect

You shouldn’t talk to people
Like they’ve just left a slum
Because you won’t gain respect
And you’ll be treated back like scum

So when you talk to others
Talk at their level and not below
Then you might earn a little respect
This eventually will grow

Respect is earned in many ways
Like with loyalty and tact
Respect is not with any title
And that is a well known fact
